Where did the cloud that filled the tabernacle first appear?

It first appeared when the Israelites came out of Goshen and camped at the Red Sea. There the cloud protected them from the Egyptians, becoming darkness to Egypt but light and protection to Israel, and at night a pillar of fire. That same cloud later covered the tent of congregation and filled the tabernacle.

Les teaches that after Moses finished setting up the tabernacle complex and the court, a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. Moses could not enter. Les explains this cloud was the very presence of God, called the Shekinah glory, and it was the same cloud that first appeared when Israel came out of Goshen and encamped by the Red Sea. It shielded Israel from the Egyptian onslaught, was black darkness to the Egyptians, protection to the Jews, and at night became the pillar of fire. That same cloud now rested over the Holy of Holies, where the Ark of the Covenant was, filling that back room of the tabernacle.

Exodus 14:19

And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:
