Where did the pattern for the tabernacle come from?

The pattern for the tabernacle came from heaven, not from anything on earth. God showed Moses the design, and Scripture says he was to build according to the pattern of the tabernacle and its instruments that God revealed to him.

Les teaches that as God was giving instructions for the tabernacle, the plan He gave Moses was a copy of one not on this earth but in heaven. The crucial word is "pattern." Verse 8 says, "According to all that I show you after the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall you make it." Les explains that God was not just dreaming this up from nothing; He showed Moses the heavenly pattern for the tabernacle and all its instruments.

Exodus 25:9

According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it.

Was the tabernacle pattern God gave Moses based on something in heaven?

Yes. The tabernacle plan and floor plan given to Moses was a copy of one not on this earth but in heaven. God instructed them to make the sanctuary according to the pattern He showed Moses—the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its instruments.
