Can Paul be accused of being anti-feminist?
No. Anyone reading the last chapter of Romans could never accuse Paul of being anti-feminist, because he names woman after woman who was part and parcel of his ministry and helped him. Scripture is not anti-feminist; Christianity was the greatest feminist movement that ever hit the human race.
Les teaches that the Bible is not anti-feminist. He points out that when the feminist movement first began, a major newspaper wanted the Bible removed from universities because they did not like the letters of Paul; they thought if Paul were removed, they could stomach the Bible. But Les says anyone who has read Romans’ last chapter could never accuse Paul of being anti-feminist, since he names woman after woman who was part and parcel of his ministry and helped him. He also notes God used women in the Old Testament, such as the wise-hearted women who spun with their hands, and calls Christianity the greatest feminist movement ever to hit the human race.
