Why did Paul face so many problems and accusations?

Paul faced problems and accusations because Judaizers from Israel, the pagan world, and believing Jews associated with the twelve in Jerusalem charged him with being an imposter and false teacher, since he lacked letters of commendation from Peter. His only validation was the converted pagans established in Christ.

Les explains that Paul's problems and accusations stemmed from constant opposition. Judaizers from Israel, the pagan world, and even believing Jews connected with the twelve in Jerusalem undermined him, claiming he was an imposter and a false teacher. Their chief complaint was that he lacked credentials—specifically, letters of commendation from Peter. Had he possessed such letters, he would have avoided many of these troubles. Instead, his only proof of ministry was the pagans who had been saved and set on the rock Christ Jesus. Les also reminds us that 2 Corinthians follows a first letter that corrected horrible problems among the Corinthians, including gross immorality worse than the pagans practiced, and the second letter came within a year. So Paul had to defend his apostolic authority against these accusations.
