Was Paul anti-feminist?

No. The charge that Paul was anti-feminist is contradicted by Scripture. In Romans 16 he commends at least eight women who labored with him in ministry. He entrusts the epistle to Phoebe, a servant of the church, and calls her a succorer of many, including himself.

Les explains that Paul has been criticized over the years as an anti-feminist. He recalls a group of feminists at an Iowa university trying to get all the Bibles off campus because they thought Paul was anti-feminist. Les calls such critics ignorant and says there is not a man in Scripture who gives more commendation to women than Paul. In Romans 16, Paul enumerates at least eight women who were intrinsic in helping him in the ministry. The epistle to the Romans was even entrusted to a woman to get it where it was supposed to go. Paul commends Phoebe as a servant of the church of Centurion and a succorer of many, including himself.
