What did God tell Moses about leading the people and His angel after the golden calf?
God told Moses to go and lead the people to the place He had spoken of, and promised that His angel would go before them. He also said He would blot out of His book whoever sinned against Him, and in the day of visitation He would visit their sin upon them.
Les explains that after Moses interceded for Israel’s great sin of making gods of gold, God answered that whoever sinned against Him would be blotted out of His book. God then told Moses to go and lead the people to the place He had spoken of, and said His angel would go before him. Nevertheless, God said He would visit their sin in the day of visitation, and the Lord plagued the people because they made the calf Aaron made.
Therefore now go, lead the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto thee: behold, mine Angel shall go before thee: nevertheless in the day when I visit I will visit their sin upon them.
