Why do educated people today fall for New Age sun worship?
Educated people fall for New Age sun worship because human nature has not changed. The same fallen nature that rejected God in ancient Israel still rejects Him today. When God's presence or leadership seems delayed, people turn to visible gods, and so-called intellectuals embrace the same spiritual garbage Israel embraced.
Les teaches that human nature is no different today than it was in Moses' day. He points out that if Christ came now as He did then, the human race would do the same thing—reject and crucify Him. Israel's history exposes human nature, and we share that same nature. After Moses delayed on the mount, the people quickly asked Aaron to make them gods to go before them. Les saw a news clip of New Agers on a mountainside worshiping the sun and marveled that enlightened, so-called intellectuals fall for such garbage, yet they do. Israel had God's miraculous deliverance, the Red Sea, and the ongoing cloud and pillar of fire, but as soon as Moses was gone they turned to a visible god.
