Why did God expect Israel to trust Him completely about entering the Promised Land?
God expected Israel to trust Him completely because He had already proven Himself faithful and powerful by miraculously delivering them from Egypt and bringing them through the Red Sea. Compared with such a God, even tall Canaanites were no obstacle, so He intended to lead them directly into the Promised Land without the delay of spying.
Les explains that the sending of the twelve spies was not part of God's plan at all. God intended Israel to trust Him explicitly after He had already brought them out of Egypt miraculously and through the Red Sea. The Canaanites, though perhaps seven or eight feet tall, were nothing before such a God. Once the tabernacle was completed, God wanted Israel to raise it and go straight north into the Promised Land, with no delay from sending spies.
