What did God promise to do for Israel before they entered the promised land?

God promised to drive out the Canaanites before Israel, using hornets or whatever else was needed, so the inhabitants would leave their gardens, vineyards, orchards, farms, houses, and everything ready. Israel was simply to walk in and take possession of the land He had prepared for them.

Les explains that Israel stood at the gates of the promised land at Kadesh Barnea, having just come from Sinai with the tabernacle and priesthood in place. God had promised He would drive out the Canaanites, using hornets or whatever needed to be done, so their gardens, vineyards, orchards, farms, houses, and everything would be ready for Israel. They were simply to walk in and take it. Their problem was unbelief; they could not believe what God said. Their first step of unbelief was asking Moses to send in spies, so that if the spies returned and said they could do it, they would go in. That was not God's idea; God never instructed those 12 spies, but He finally condescended and said, yes, go ahead.
