Was Ramesses II the pharaoh of the Exodus and did he drown in the Red Sea?

The Scripture does not identify the pharaoh of the Exodus or state whether he drowned. If history is correct that Ramesses II was pharaoh at that time, he was not drowned, because a mummified pharaoh believed to be him still exists. The Egyptian host in the sea was destroyed.

Les explains that Scripture does not indicate whether Pharaoh himself led his armies into the Red Sea. He rather doubts it. If history is correct that Ramesses II was the pharaoh at this time, then he certainly was not leading them, because they are quite sure that one of the mummified pharaohs still over there was indeed this same pharaoh. Scripture leaves us unaware whether Pharaoh himself was drowned, but none of the others were left—God had completely destroyed them. The waters returned and covered the chariots, the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after Israel.
