Where did Israel go after coming out of Goshen along the Red Sea?

After leaving Goshen, Israel traveled down the shore of the Red Sea. They moved along the Red Sea until they reached the area at the deeper part of that body of water, where they were locked in with mountains nearby.

Les explains that God did not lead Israel through the way of the Philistines, which would have been the shorter route. Instead, after they came out of Goshen, they came down the shore of the Red Sea. He pictures the Sinai Peninsula, the Red Sea coming up on both sides, the Mediterranean coast, and Goshen. Somewhere along the deeper part of the Red Sea, with Mount Sinai approximately in that area, they would be locked in with mountains over here.
