Where did Israel travel after leaving Goshen?

After leaving Goshen, Israel did not take the short Philistine route; God led them down the shore of the Red Sea. They traveled along the Red Sea to a deeper part, where they would be locked in by mountains, near where Mount Sinai is located.

Les explains that when Pharaoh let the people go after the Passover, God did not lead them through the way of the Philistines, which was the shorter route. Instead, they came out of Goshen and traveled down the shore of the Red Sea. Somewhere along the deeper part of that body of water, in the area of the Red Sea, they would be locked in with mountains over on the side, near where Mount Sinai is located. This movement occurred at the exact end of the 430 years, showing God's precise control of time and events.
