What happens to the believer's body after it dies and decays?

When the believer’s old body dies and is buried, decaying back into corruption, it will be resurrected to a new body fashioned after His resurrected body—an eternal body of flesh and bone, not flesh and blood, with the Spirit as its life-giving aspect.

Les explains that when this old body dies, and if it is buried and goes back into corruption, the believer can know without doubt that it is going to be resurrected to a new body fashioned like after His body. The resurrected body is not flesh and blood but flesh and bone, and the Spirit is the life-giving aspect of that new body. This is the believer’s prospect. He illustrates this from Christ’s resurrected body, which appeared in the upper room and later at Galilee, ate fish and bread with the disciples, and had a human-appearing body that was now an eternal body.
