The world is rushing toward the time when the man of sin, the Antichrist, will appear, and this age is closing quickly. When he appears, he will finally bring a semblance of peace to the Middle East. That is what the world is waiting for.
Les explains that the world is not focused on eternal things but on the temporal—asking what is in it for me and how to enjoy life to the full. When the man of sin appears, he will finally bring a semblance of peace to the Middle East, which is what everybody is waiting for. While they wait for that peace, they forget the admonition that when these things come to pass, believers should lift up their eyes because redemption is near. Les also points to exploding technology, global politics, global economics, and religions coming under one headship as signs the time is short. Therefore, believers should not be concerned with things seen but should look at the things not seen, which are eternal.
