Les Feldick Bible Study

What happens when a believer becomes consumed with temporal things?

Being consumed with temporal things causes a believer to get hung up on them and become more concerned about the temporal, and thereby lose sight of the eternal. The Bible does not condemn things, but it warns that priorities must stay straight, urging believers to seek first the kingdom and not be caught in that trap.

Les explains that the world today is set only on the temporal—asking what’s in it for me, how to enjoy life to the full, how to make the most, how to do this and that—but that is not where it’s at. He points to the Lord’s earthly ministry: seek first the kingdom of heaven and all these things. There is nothing wrong with things; the Bible does not condemn things if our priorities are straight. However, if a believer gets hung up on things and is more concerned about the temporal, he loses sight of the eternal. Les warns not to be caught in that trap, especially as this age is in its closing seconds, though he is not a date setter. He sees the world rushing toward the scenario for the Antichrist’s appearance and Israel being pressed by the Arab world.
