What vision did Paul see in the night at Choas?

In the night at Choas, Paul saw a vision in which a man of Macedonia stood and beseeched him, saying, “Come over into Macedonia, and help us.” This direction followed the Holy Spirit’s prohibition against preaching in Asia and His refusal to permit the intended journey into Bithynia.

Les explains that Paul had been ministering in western Turkey, then called Asia Minor, and had gone up to Choas from the area of Derbe and Lystra. Paul intended to go back to northern Turkey through the Black Sea region and then to Asia, but the Holy Spirit forbade preaching the Word in Asia. After Mysia, they intended to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit them. Passing by Mysia, they came down to Choas, where Paul expected to meet Titus. There a vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia stood and beseeched him, “Come over into Macedonia, and help us.”

Acts 16:9

And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.
