What happened when Paul came to Choas to preach the gospel?

When Paul came to Choas to preach Christ’s gospel, the Lord opened a door for him, but he had no rest in his spirit because he did not find Titus his brother. Lacking communication, he did not know what had happened to Titus, and the Lord was directing him contrary to his own expectations.

Les explains that Choas was a seaport town, actually the ancient city of Troy, where Titus and Paul had agreed to meet. Because there was no mail, telegraph, or phone, Paul had no way of knowing what had happened to Titus. When Paul came to Choas to preach Christ’s gospel, a door was opened unto him of the Lord, but he had no rest in his spirit because he found not Titus his brother. Les notes Paul was distressed, wondering why Titus was not at Choas at the set appointed time. At the same time, the Lord came upon him with something totally different, contrary to what he had thought he was going to do, and Les sees the two as almost a clash in Paul’s thinking. The discussion then turns back to Acts 16.
