Will we recognize our loved ones after we die and are resurrected?
Yes. Since Peter, James, and John recognized Moses and Elijah, believers will recognize their loved ones after death and resurrection. They will know everyone, know them by name, and possess full knowledge. The natural body is raised a spiritual body—flesh and bone with outward features, sustained by the Spirit and eternal life.
Les explains that if Peter, James, and John recognized Moses and Elijah, then believers will recognize their loved ones. We are going to know everybody, know them all by name, and have full knowledge. Remembering names now is hard work, but that limitation will be gone. If we die before the rapture, the believer has the blessed hope that the body is raised to new life. The body of flesh must die and be raised in resurrection power. It is sown a natural body, born of the flesh, but raised a spiritual body. We will not enter eternity in flesh and blood but in flesh and bone, with the Spirit as our life source. Though the natural and spiritual bodies are eons apart, they are alike because we will still have all the outward features we have now, and we will be spiritual in that we have eternal life instead of the promised three score and ten.
