What does salvation give believers?

Salvation gives believers spiritual resurrection: though once dead in trespasses and sins, they are made alive spiritually in this life. They receive an existence filled with the Spirit of God, a new divine nature, and all that salvation brings working on their behalf, truths revealed in Paul’s writings.

Les teaches that at the very core of the Christian belief is the power of resurrection, and that this begins first in salvation. As Ephesians 2:1 puts it, those who were dead in trespasses and sins have been made alive spiritually in this life. Les explains that believers were raised from a dead spiritual existence to an existence filled with the Spirit of God. They now have a new divine nature, and all these things that salvation brings are working on their behalf. Les emphasizes that this was unknown until the writings of the Apostle Paul, and he connects it to the profound doctrines concerning the believer’s eternal state and the resurrection from the dead.
