What does salvation bring to the believer?

Salvation brings spiritual resurrection—being made alive from dead trespasses and sins—and gives the believer a new divine nature filled with the Spirit of God, with all these things working on their behalf, forming the core of Christian belief and the eternal state.

Les explains that at the very core of the whole Christian belief is the power of resurrection. First, this applies in our salvation, as Ephesians 2 verse 1 puts it: we who were dead in trespasses and sins have been made alive spiritually in this life. We were raised from a dead spiritual existence to an existence filled with the Spirit of God. The believer has that new divine nature, and all of these things that salvation brings are working on our behalf. Les notes that all of this was unknown until we get to these writings of the Apostle Paul, and it relates to our eternal state, with the heart of it all being the resurrection.
