Les Feldick Bible Study

Is our position as members of the Body of Christ beyond human understanding?

Yes. The believer’s position as a member of the Body of Christ is beyond human understanding and comprehension; it is received by faith. It is not merely salvation from hellfire but a tremendous relationship with Christ Himself, making believers His complement and fullness.

Les teaches that because of our position in Christ, God puts believers on such an even keel with Christ that as He is our inheritance, we are His inheritance. The members of the Body of Christ are the complement, the fullness of Christ—the same word used concerning Eve when God presented her to Adam as his complement and helpmeet. This is beyond human understanding, but it is taken by faith as the believer’s glorious position. Les explains that the average believer thinks salvation is only to escape hellfire, yet it is far beyond that and beyond comprehension: believers are saved to come into a tremendous relationship with Christ Himself. Verse 19 speaks of the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.
