Is Christ the King of the Church or the Head of the Body?
Christ is the Head of the Body, not the King of the Church. As Head, believers are joint heirs; if He were King, they would be subjects. He is King of the coming Kingdom as Messiah of Israel, but the Church relates to Him as Head.
Les teaches that Christ is not the King of the Church; He is the Head of the Body. In I Corinthians 15, the Kingdom is ushered in with Christ as King—Messiah of Israel, Son of God, Savior of mankind, and Head of the Body. But for the Church, if believers were under a kingship, they could never be called joint heirs, because they would be subjects. So the Church's relationship is that of members of His Body, not subjects of a king.
