Does God want untaught, ignorant believers in the Body of Christ?

No. God does not want ignorant, untaught believers in the Body of Christ. He desires every child of His to be well taught, well instructed, grounded in the Word, and able to enjoy their faith. Miserable Christians are out of fellowship, but God intends the believer’s life to be joyous.

Les teaches from Colossians 3 that God does not want a bunch of ignorant believers in the Body. He wants every child of His to be well taught, well instructed, grounded, and to enjoy our faith. There is no room for miserable Christians; if they are miserable, they are out of fellowship with the Lord and out there in the world where they should not be. The Christian life is a joyous life, and God wants it that way. This follows the instruction to let the peace of God rule in your hearts and let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom.

Colossians 3:16

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Why does God want the Word of Christ to dwell in believers richly?

God wants the Word of Christ to dwell richly in believers so they are not ignorant but well taught, well instructed, and grounded in their faith, enabling them to enjoy a joyous life in fellowship with the Lord rather than being miserable.
