What does Paul want for believers regarding being taught?

Paul desires that believers be a well-taught people, not left untaught or ignorant. He wants them well read in the Scriptures and not ignorant of the mystery, the secret God kept in His own mind until He revealed it to Paul.

Les explains that Paul does not want believers to be untaught. He points out that the church has often failed by not teaching its people; many cannot tell you what they believe. Paul drives home that believers are to be a well-taught people, and we should be well read in the Scriptures. Paul also says he would not have brethren ignorant of the mystery—the Greek word mysterion, meaning secret—which God kept in His own mind until He revealed it to the Apostle Paul.
