What is the result of growing in faith and in stature in the body?

Growing in faith and stature in the body results in spiritual maturity: believers are no longer children tossed to and fro, carried about by every wind of doctrine, or deceived by the craftiness of men. Speaking truth in love, they grow up into Christ, the head of the body.

Les teaches from Ephesians 4 that if we have grown in our faith and in our stature in the body, then we should henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the slight or cunningness and craftiness of men who lie in wait to deceive. He points out that there is more deception today than the world has ever seen. The way to confront it is with a knowledge of the Word and a realization of your position in the body. Verse 15 says that speaking the truth in love, we may grow up into Him who is in that position in Christ in all things, who is the head—Christ. Les uses the human body as an illustration: everything originates in the head, the brain, the mind. Christ is the head of the body, and as the body functions in this world, its marching orders come from the head, not some denominational hierarchy. He is going to speak through the Word.
