What was the good news of the Kingdom that Jesus and the Twelve proclaimed?

The good news of the Kingdom was that Christ was the King in Israel's midst, ready to fulfill all Old Testament promises concerning Israel and His Messiahship. It was proclaimed to Jews only, with nothing for Gentiles, and when Israel rejected the Kingdom and King, God turned to the Gospel of Grace.

Les explains that the good news of the Kingdom centered on Christ as the King in their midst, ready to fulfill all the Old Testament promises concerning Israel and His Messiahship. It was the good news of the Kingdom, and it was for Jew only; there was nothing in it for the Gentile. But when Israel rejected the Gospel of the Kingdom and the King and crucified Him, God turned to Saul of Tarsus, the Apostle Paul, who began to proclaim the Gospel of Grace. That grace message has nothing of law or legalism associated with it and is primarily, not exclusively, to the Gentiles. Through the preaching of the Gospel of Grace, God is calling out the Body of Christ. Les also notes that Jesus or the Twelve never used the term “Body of Christ”; they did not know about it and did not use it, though Jesus knew about it but never revealed it.
