What is the threefold aspect of the gospel?

The threefold aspect of the gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of the eternal Creator God who took on human flesh. He died, shed His blood, was buried three days and three nights as proof He was truly dead, and God raised Him from the dead the third day according to the Scriptures.

Les explains the threefold aspect of the gospel as the eternal Creator God Himself taking on human flesh, dying and shedding His blood, and being buried three days and three nights in the grave as proof positive that He was really dead. Then God raised Him from the dead the third day according to the Scriptures. This matters because without resurrection power there is no eternal life. If Christ be not raised, faith is vain, you are yet in your sin, and you are doomed. Even believers who had fallen asleep in Christ would be just as doomed without resurrection. Les notes that some liberals and modernistic preachers claim if He rose, He was not really dead, but He was literally, physically dead. Paul also says if in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
