What are the two aspects of salvation according to the gospel?

According to the gospel, salvation has two aspects: believers are saved from hellfire, and they are declared righteous by an imputation of God Himself. Paul presents this gospel as the message the Corinthians received and stood in, by which they are saved and made righteous.

Les explains that 1 Corinthians 15 contains the clearest definition of the gospel of salvation. He points out that the gospel is what Paul preached to the Corinthians, what they received, and wherein they stand. Les highlights that another term for being saved is being made righteous. He stresses two aspects: believers are saved from hellfire, and they are declared righteous by an imputation of God Himself. Les warns that if what you believe does not line up with these verses, you should take another look, because this is the gospel in all its simplicity and power.

1 Corinthians 15:2

By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
