What is the purpose of everything a Christian does according to 1 Corinthians 10:31?
Scripture teaches that whether a Christian eats, drinks, or does anything else, every action is to be done for one purpose: the glory of God. This is the only reason believers remain here—to bring glory to His Name—even in ordinary, mundane experiences done as unto the Lord.
Les explains that verse 31 is the crux of the whole matter: “whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatsoever you do, whatever it is, you do it all for one purpose, for the glory of God.” He says that is the only reason we are left here, to bring glory to His Name. Even in the mundane things we think don’t really count, they do. In ordinary, everyday experiences, if we do them as unto the Lord and for His glory, then that is the way God sees it. Les also ties this to verse 32’s admonition to give no offense to the Jew, the Gentile, or the house of God.
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
