What did Satan offer Jesus if Jesus would fall down and worship him?
Satan offered Jesus control over all the nations and kingdoms of the world, promising they would bow at His feet and be His, if Jesus would fall down and worship him. The offer came after showing Jesus the world's kingdoms from an exceeding high mountain.
Les explains that Satan took Jesus up into an exceeding high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world. Because both Jesus and Satan are spiritual, Satan could show Jesus backward to Nebuchadnezzar or even David's great kingdom, and forward to all the great empires yet to come in human history. Satan told Jesus that if He would fall down and worship him, He could have control over all these nations, and they would bow at His feet because they would be His. Les also notes that Satan must not have known that one day these same nations will be under Christ's rulership when He rules and reigns as a result of His sovereignty.
