Why does God still hate the same things today that He hated in the Old Testament?

God still hates the same things today because He has not changed. The God of the Old Testament and the Mosaic law is the same God people deal with now. His nature is constant—the same yesterday, today, and forever—so what He hated in Genesis and what He admonished Israel against, He still hates and admonishes today.

Les explains that although he teaches we are not under law but under grace, the God of the Old Testament—the God of the Mosaic law—is the same God we deal with today, and He has not changed. He is the same yesterday and forever. Therefore, the things God hated back in Genesis, God hates today. The things God admonished Israel not to do for their own good, He admonishes us today not to do for our own good. The circumstances of the world have not changed either; what damaged health in Israel's early days is no different today. This makes Exodus 32 just as applicable today as it was for Corinth in Paul's day and when it happened in Exodus.
