Who is the One who went to the Roman cross and suffered at the hands of mankind?
The Creator Himself is the One who went to the Roman cross. He is the same One who created the universe, formed man from the dust, and breathed into him the breath of life, and He suffered at the hands of mankind so He could have people in eternity.
Les explains that from the human side he cannot comprehend that the One who created the universe, who created man and brought him up out of the dust and breathed into him the breath of life, is the same One who went to that Roman cross and suffered at the hands of mankind. Les says this was so He could have me and you in eternity. He adds that it is beyond him why and how the Creator did all that just for the salvation of mankind, but He did. In the same way, Paul says some of the Corinthians, even though saved, still did not comprehend our God compared to the powerless gods of idols.
