Les Feldick Bible Study

What happens if you harm your body with things you know are harmful?

If a person harms the physical body with things they know are harmful, that body will suffer the consequences. Drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes are given as examples that destroy physical health, the liver, and whole physical well-being. Medical science has confirmed cigarettes do much the same, and hospital beds are filled with people abusing their bodies.

Les explains that a drug problem, unless someone is fortunate enough to be drawn out of it and broken of it, will utterly destroy physical health. The alcoholic, unless he comes away from it, will sooner or later destroy his liver and his whole physical well-being. Medical science has proven cigarettes do much the same. Les says that if you harm the physical body with things you know are harmful, it is going to suffer the consequences, and we are seeing it all around. He recalls a Good Morning America interview with the president of the American Hospital Association, who told Joan Lunden that all the American people would have to do to lower skyrocketing medical costs is stop doing the things that harm their body. He added a statistic that roughly 70% of hospital beds are occupied by people there because of drinking, smoking, drugs, or venereal diseases. Les concludes that hospital beds are filled with people who have abused their physical body with things we now know are harmful, and that is all the Bible is telling us.
