What does alcoholism do to the body if a person never stops drinking?

If an alcoholic never stops drinking, the alcohol will sooner or later destroy his liver and his whole physical well-being. The physical health is utterly destroyed. The body suffers the consequences of harmful substances, and unless the person comes away from it, the destruction continues.

Les explains that the alcoholic, unless he is fortunate enough to come away from it somewhere along the line, will sooner or later have his liver destroyed and his whole physical well-being destroyed. He points out that what a person does to harm the physical body with things known to be harmful will cause the body to suffer the consequences. Medical science has proven that cigarettes do much the same thing. He also recalls a doctor saying that Americans could lower skyrocketing medical costs simply by stopping the things that harm their body, and that about 70% of hospital beds are occupied by people there because of drinking, smoking, drugs, or venereal diseases.
