Does alcoholism run generation after generation?
Yes. Human nature's traits, including alcoholism, are depicted as continuing down the line generation after generation. Scripture warned of this pattern 1,500 years before Christ, showing it is not merely a modern medical discovery but an ancient, God-given warning about fallen human behavior.
Les explains that the Bible warns these traits will take off down the line generation after generation. He points to alcoholism as an example: it is often seen generation after generation after generation. This pattern was written in Scripture 1,500 years before Christ, so it is not a new discovery. Modern medical people may think they have suddenly realized these things, but God told us this long beforehand. The root is fallen human nature operating until the power of a sovereign God comes into a life, and society pushes God out of its thinking, schools, and home, then decries the consequences.
