What does alcoholism do to a person's body over time?
Alcoholism, unless the person comes away from it, will sooner or later destroy the liver and the entire physical well-being. It utterly destroys physical health, and the body suffers the consequences of harmful substances. Medical science has shown similar destruction from cigarettes.
Les explains that the alcoholic, unless he is fortunate enough to come away from it somewhere along the line, will sooner or later have his liver destroyed and his whole physical well-being destroyed. He notes that medical science has proven cigarettes do much the same thing. He also recalls a doctor on Good Morning America saying the American people could lower skyrocketing medical costs if they would stop doing the things that harm their body, and that roughly 70% of hospital beds are occupied by people there because of drinking, smoking, drugs, or venereal diseases. Les concludes that our hospital beds are filled with people who have been abusing their physical body with things we now know are harmful, and that's all the Bible is telling us.
