What happened when Solomon's temple was completed and dedicated?
When Solomon's temple was completed and dedicated, the presence of God in the Shekinah glory descended into it, and God dwelt in that Jerusalem temple. This served as a foreview of the age of grace, in which the Holy Spirit indwells every believer the moment they believe.
Les explains that Solomon built the temple in Jerusalem, which was to be the dwelling place of God. When the temple was complete and they dedicated it, the presence of God in the Shekinah glory came right down into that temple, and the presence of God dwelt there. He teaches that this was a foreview of the age of grace, where when God saves an individual, that person immediately becomes a temple, a dwelling place; just as the Shekinah glory came into Solomon's temple in Jerusalem, the Holy Spirit comes into us.
