What should believers do since their salvation is already settled?

Since salvation is settled at belief, believers should not sit idle but get busy and work, laboring to be accepted of Him for reward, bringing glory to God's name and gaining personal reward, knowing they will appear before the bema seat of Christ where reward, not eternal destiny, is determined.

Les explains that the judgment seat of Christ is only for true believers, not the unsaved, and it does not put salvation in the balances. The term “judgment seat” is an unfortunate translation; the correct Greek term is the bema seat, a raised podium used by judges, and in the Olympic Games it was set at the finish line to determine who was first, second, or third. Nothing in the bema seat judgment involves our eternal destiny, because that is settled the moment we believed. Instead, the bema seat determines how much reward. Therefore, believers are not to sit down in an easy chair and let life go by. They are to get busy and work, first to bring glory to God’s name, but also for their own personal benefit of reward.
