When does a master builder or contractor get involved in a building project?
A master builder or contractor gets involved at the very beginning, when plans are first laid. He does not arrive when the building is half built. He stakes out the site, lays the foundation, and remains involved from day one, overseeing the project throughout.
Les explains that when you build a home or building and need a contractor, the major contractor comes into the picture when you first begin to lay plans to build. He goes out and stakes where it's going to be built, and he lays the foundation. Right from the beginning, he is involved. That is the role of a master builder. He is not someone who comes on the scene when the building is half built, just to finish it up. He will be there from day one. The apostle claims to be that master builder, speaking of the church, the body of Christ. He laid the foundation and is there from day one overseeing this building. We are working together in this building, and each believer should take heed how he builds thereon.
According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
