Les Feldick Bible Study

What does it mean that we are God's husbandry and God's building?

It means every one of us is God's husbandry and part of God's building: laborers with Him, working together for a common purpose. Each builds a segment of the wall using materials God provides, bringing glory to God and filling up the Body of Christ until it is complete.

Les teaches that we should envision ourselves as workers building a wall of brick. God gives six different materials to work with, and each person builds the segment of the wall that is part of God's building. Every one of us is involved. Some may never get out of their rocking chair, while others accomplish great things, but all are like bees in a hive, working together for a common purpose. The analogy breaks down because God does not kick out the lazy worker, whereas bees will. Nevertheless, we work every day toward the same end: to bring glory to God and to fulfill or fill up the Body of Christ. When the Body is complete and the last person is brought in, the Lord will take us and deliver us out of this old evil world. So the whole concept is that we are laboring with God, we are God's husbandry, and we are part of God's building.

1 Corinthians 3:9

For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.
