Les Feldick Bible Study

Can every believer enjoy and understand the Bible today?

Yes. Every believer can simply get into the Book and feast on it, and understanding is not as difficult as many claim. The key is comparing Scripture with Scripture, recognizing God dealt with the Jew under Law but deals with believers today under Grace, and Law and Grace do not mix.

Les explains that just as Paul contrasted the wisdom of men with the wisdom of God, and the Corinthians were so carnal they were not cashing in on the fountain of wisdom that was theirs for the taking, it is the same way for us today. Every believer can simply get into the Book and feast on it, but most won't. The common excuse is “I can't understand it.” Les responds that you can, and it is not that difficult. His first premise is to separate that which is for the Jew and that which is for the Gentile. That does not mean throwing aside what is for the Jew; rather, compare Scripture with Scripture in light of the fact that God dealt with the Jew under the Law while dealing with us today under Grace. Those are two totally contrary principles. Law and Grace will not mix. Les also notes Paul cries against legalism in any shape or form, because believers are not under the Law but under Grace.
