Is all of the Bible for us today?

No, not all of the Bible is addressed to us today. Scripture states that all Scripture is inspired and profitable, but not all of it is to us. The Bible is progressive revelation, so readers must determine to whom each part was written or spoken and leave it in its context.

Les explains that the Bible is progressive revelation and must be allowed to unfold where it sits. He warns against lifting a verse out of context to make it mean something it does not say; if it does not make sense yet, wait. The key question is to whom a passage was written or spoken. He affirms that all Scripture, cover to cover, is for us and is inspired and profitable, but not all of it is addressed directly to us today.
