What kind of world are we living in according to the Bible?
Scripture describes the world as a world of dead people, meaning spiritually dead people. Paul argues in II Corinthians 5:14-15 that if one died for all, then all were dead, and this teaching concludes that we live in a world full of spiritually dead people.
Les teaches that the Bible presents the world as full of dead people, and he clarifies this means spiritually dead people. He reads II Corinthians 5:14-15: "For the love of Christ constraineth us, because we thus judge that if one died for all, then they must have all been dead." He recalls a pastor saying, "Do you realize we are living in a world of dead people?" and explains that this is exactly true—we live in a world full of spiritually dead people. He then directs listeners to Ephesians chapter 2, verse 1, as sufficient for this line of thought.
And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
