Les Feldick Bible Study

Are all sins forgiven past, present, and future when you come under forgiveness?

Yes. When a person comes under the forgiveness provided by Christ's death, burial, and resurrection, every sin is forgiven—past, present, and future. No sin remains to be charged, because Christ has fully paid for all trespasses, not by human effort but by His finished work on the believer's behalf.

Les teaches from Galatians 2:20 that the Gospel's function is that Christ died for the sins of the world, was buried, and rose again. When we come under that forgiveness, we are forgiven everything—past, present, and future—so we will never come into God's presence with sin on our back, because it has all been paid for. He says this is beyond human comprehension; we believe it because the Book teaches we have been forgiven all trespasses, not because of anything we have done, but because of what Christ accomplished on our behalf. That makes the Gospel simple yet complex, something we will not fully understand this side of glory.
