How did the Corinthians begin their Christian life and what would happen under grace?

The Corinthians began their Christian life as people saved out of gross immorality, having been given all the grace of God they would ever possess. They started like little fledglings, but under that grace growth lay ahead; their faith was not to stand in human wisdom but in God's power.

Les explains that these Corinthians were grossly immoral people who were saved out of that wicked lifestyle. They were given all the grace of God they would ever have, but growth was still ahead of them. They began as almost little fledglings, yet they were under the grace of God, and in that grace they were going to grow. This fits the Apostle's emphasis that faith should not stand in the wisdom of men but in the power of God, not in enticing words but in the power of the Spirit.
