What has to happen to the old Adam in salvation?

In salvation, the old Adam must die. The old Adam with all its worldly things has to die, and God by a miraculous work replaces it, creating a whole new mind, will, and emotion. The personality is totally recreated. The unbeliever can do nothing; God performs the miracle of salvation.

Les teaches that old Adam has to die—old Adam with all of its things concerning the world, he has to die. In his place, God by a miraculous work gives a transformed mind. The personality has to be totally recreated, because God creates within us a whole new mind, will, and emotion. The unbeliever must come to the place of doing nothing, just as Israel was told at the Red Sea to stand still and not try to build a bridge or find something to float across. God moves in and performs the miracle of salvation.

Romans 12:2

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
