What is the opposite of being conformed to this world?

The opposite of being conformed to this world is to be transformed. Paul contrasts being molded into the world system, which is under Satan's control, with transformation. Believers are not to be poured into Satan's mold but are to be transformed.

Les explains that the word "conformed" pictures hot jello poured into a mold: once it sets, it takes exactly the shape of the mold. Foundry work with steel is similar—once molded, it is set. Paul's analogy is that believers should not be poured into Satan's mold, for Satan is the god of this world and the whole world system is under his control. Coming away from that marks believers, and the world recognizes them. Yet the appeal is voluntary, not forced. The plea is: do not be molded according to this old world controlled by the wicked one; instead, the opposite is to be transformed.

Romans 12:2

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
