Why did God conclude Israel in unbelief according to Romans 11:32?
Scripture says Israel was shut up in unbelief because of their total rejection, and this served God's purpose to show mercy to all—both Jew and Gentile, the whole human race. Their rejection opened the way for divine mercy to extend to everyone without distinction.
Les teaches that Romans 11:32 says God hath concluded them—that is Israel—all in unbelief because of their total rejection, that He might have mercy upon all. He asks how many? All. Then he clarifies the 'all' means Jew and Gentile, the whole human race. Earlier he explained that when we believe the gospel—that Christ died for our sins and rose from the dead—God opens our ability to believe, comes in, makes us a new person, and these things become easy to comprehend. He then goes to verse 33 about the depth of the riches of God's wisdom and knowledge, and how unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out.
For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.
