What did God do when Israel proved they were not going to believe?

When Israel proved they would not believe, God raised up Saul of Tarsus, the rebel who hated Jesus, and saved him by grace. God sent him to the Gentiles, while Israel entered spiritual blindness. This opened the windows of heaven for pagan Gentiles to come to the Gospel.

Les explains that when Israel proved they were not going to believe, God raised up that other little Jew, that rebel, that raging bull who hated Jesus of Nazareth, and saved him by grace—Saul of Tarsus. That is the epitome of grace. God told Saul right up front, before he even got out of Damascus, that He would send him far hence to the Gentiles. Israel would go out into spiritual blindness, but Saul would go to the Gentiles. Because Israel rejected all the Old Testament promises, rejected her Messiah and King, and crucified Him, what they really did was open up the windows of heaven for Gentiles, whose forefathers were pagan and steeped in idolatry. God sent this apostle among those pagan Gentiles, and they began to swarm to the Gospel.
