What did God do after Israel rejected the covenant promises?

After Israel refused and rejected the covenant promises, God temporarily set them aside and turned to the Gentiles in grace, not by the Law or the covenants but by the blood of Christ and His finished work on the cross.

Les explains that when Israel refused and rejected the covenant promises, God set them aside temporarily and turned to the Gentile in grace. The Gentiles, who had no part in the covenant promises and were far off, were made nigh to God not by the Law or the covenants but by the blood of Christ, the finished work of the cross. Paul does not leave us without hope; the flip side is that in Christ Jesus Gentiles who were sometime far off are brought near to God.
